
“If you wait for perfect conditions, you’ll never get anything done.” Ecclesiastes 11:4.
I unexpectedly came across this quote today and it really spoke to me. You see, the perfectionist in me wants to wait for just the right moment to complete my big projects. It’s something I’ve battled all of my life. I’m not a procrastinator; I just want things to feel “right” to me as I do them. With me, it’s stuff like having quiet while I do my writing. My daughter is three now and I don’t get much quiet time. So I write anyway, sometimes in the midst of chaos. I’ve been wanting to do yoga at home, but have been struggling to find the right time of day and the right room for it. Sometimes my perfectionistic, control freak nature still gets in my way. But I’m working on it.
I’ve personally learned over the last few years that when it comes to growing your business, there is no perfect time. It’s also likely that perfect business idea you had is going to end up as something completely different when you’re done. But that’s okay – things evolve as they are supposed to. [Read more...]
